Trust is the backbone of any decision I make when it comes to gear. I have to be able to trust the product that I am putting to use. The success of my photography and my business depends on that trust. When selecting equipment, it is imperative to know that I am giving myself the best opportunity to fulfill my vision and my clients needs when it comes to making a picture – both the still frame and the motion picture. That notion extends far beyond the actual creation of the image but all in its storage and delivery.
My business model dictates that I spend a lot of time on the road. I am a location photographer whether it is covering a game or on location for a portrait. Even setting up a studio at a location elsewhere in the world, my work is done on location. My equipment has to be rugged and able to travel with me anywhere. Sometimes the accommodations are elite and other times I am putting myself and my equipment through some of the harshest conditions on the planet ranging from Patagonia to Iceland to a west Texas oilfield or on a rural ranch. I have to be able to work anywhere in the world and I make my equipment selections to allow me to do just that.
When it comes to data, I now have a solution that I can take the abuse that I put myself through to make a picture and that comes in the new G-Technology rugged line of drives. They are all new members of the G-DRIVE ev line of drives that are all designed to work with the G-DOCK. I have two G-DOCKs, one in the office and one that travels with me to location. Between those two, I have 18 1-TB G-DRIVEev units that handle all my data needs on location and back at the office. Now with the new line of rugged drives, I know I don’t have to question for an instant on whether or not my data is safe on location and in transit. You won’t find a stronger or more robust solution for protecting your data on the road.
Check out the rugged family here. Thank me later.
